PLTW Model Schools Nomination Form 2010-11
February 15, 2011
You are invited to submit nominations for PLTW's 2010-11 Model Schools program. Please click on PLTW Model Schools 2010-11 Nomination Form and complete a form for each program being nominated. (Note: Previous email's link was only a preview and will not be recorded.)
The deadline for nominee submissions is Monday, Feb. 28. Follow-up questionnaires will be sent to PLTW school nominees through the School District Delegates named in the nomination form. Schools will have one month (March 15 thru April 15) to complete and return the follow-up questionnaire.
During the first stage of scoring, schools will be assessed based on the follow-up questionnaire. Schools will be awarded points for various characteristics related to being a PLTW school, including number of courses offered, number of Master Teachers on campus, the school's PLTW male/female population percentage compared to the overall population, among others.
The second stage of scoring will be performed by select State Leaders and Affiliate Directors (SLAD) using a 4-point rubric. Members of SLAD will be prohibited from scoring schools within their states. The 4-point rubric is based on key elements of the quality and performance indicators that are outlined in PLTW's National Certification application:
- Program Implementation
- Professional Development
- Student Engagement
- Post Secondary Relationships
- Communications & Outreach
Winning schools will be honored by PLTW, featured in the PLTW Model Schools 2010-11 booklet and highlighted on www.pltw.org.
