Minnesota PLTW Software Costs for 2010
Software Choices/Costs - Several different packages and pricing options are available to districts for purchase or lease. Schools can either lease an annual site license for software or you can purchase perpetual software. In some cases, depending upon how many seats of software you need, it may be less expensive to purchase the software and pre-pay for annual updates on it than to lease it. The only way to determine the best option is to do cost comparison on an individual district/school. Contact me directly if you’d like me to list all options and compare the costs.
- High Schools & Middle Schools can lease or purchase the PLTW Design Academy bundle.
- Annual License - $3,195/year
- Purchase - $9,995 (ADDITIONAL OPTION – Subscription for $1,600/yr)
- 125 seat school licenses - Please indicate stand-alone or network on your PO. If no option is noted the network version will be sent.
- ADA Software Bundle includes Autodesk Inventor, Autodesk Revit , Civil 3D, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Architectural, 3ds Max Design and a couple of add-on software item
- A High School may share this software with two (2) participating PLTW Middle Schools in its district, up to 125 total seats. If more than 125 seats are needed, additional packages of 125 seats can be ordered for $1,000 each.
2) First year PLTW High Schools can lease the PLTW Autodesk Inventor (only) bundle for $2,320.
- Available to First Year PLTW High Schools only. All other High Schools must purchase/lease the Design Academy bundle (above).
- 125 seats of Inventor. Please indicate stand-alone or network version on your PO.
- Annual License
- A High School may share this software with up to two (2) PLTW Middle Schools in its district, up to 125 total seats. If more than 125 seats are needed, the other Middle Schools can lease an additional package of 100 seats for $1000.
- First Year Middle Schools without a participating High School in their district can request a no charge
One-year grant of Autodesk Inventor 2011 (125 seats) licenses from PLTW. Requests must be made to Lisa Bobrischew, Director of Product Sales (lbobrischew@pltw.org) by June 2, 2010. After June 2, 2010 middle schools must lease according to option below. No sharing of this software is allowed.
- Middle Schools (only) when there is no High School PLTW program can lease the PLTW Inventor (only) Bundle for $750.
- Available only to PLTW Middle Schools.
- 125 seats of Inventor (Stand-alone or network version available). Please indicate stand-alone or network version on your PO.
- Annual License
- No sharing of software.
- Community Colleges/Technical Schools/Universities/Post Secondary Institutions cannot purchase
Autodesk Design Academy or Autodesk Inventor 2009 bundles.
They can use their existing perpetual seats or Autodesk Design Institute software if they have current contracts.
